Augmented Reality

Augmented Reality, or AR for short, refers to objects in the real world being overlaid with computer generated information in real time. AR can either add artificial constructions to your environment or mask them. Today AR is being used in businesses across various industries to make decisions. The feature is commonly used to bring objects to life and add additional elements to everyday images. AR has even been immersed into the mobile application world with games like Pokemon Go becoming one of the most popular mobile games of the year.

Tech Kits

Tech Kits are part of the walk-in service provided by OPIM Innovate. There are three levels of difficulty meant for different users and their experience with the different technologies. Many of the Tech Kits build off each other as you progress.

Introducing AR Imagery and Models

Length: 15 Minutes

Description: Augmented Reality involves the superimposition of artificial information into real world environments. By merging reality with virtual elements, AR opens the door for immersive ways to deliver content. This tech kit provides a walkthrough in the Google Arts & Culture App, where the user will be able to experience a variety of exhibits using AR imagery.

Physics Lab AR

Length: 30 Minutes

Description: Since the term was coined in 1990, AR has been utilized in a variety of industries. To name a few, the education, manufacturing, and healthcare industries have benefited from advancements in AR technology. This tech kit demonstrates for users how AR can be leveraged to simulate circuits, celestial bodies, and electromagnetic properties to get a more engaging and hands-on understanding of scientific principles in Physics Lab AR.

Adobe Aero

Length: 45 Minutes

Description: Expanding upon the fundamental AR introduction provided in the first two tech kits, this tech kit, you will build an immersive AR experience by overlaying 3D models in the Adobe Aero studio and visualizing them in real-time. Aero is one of the most intuitive ways to build, view, and share AR scenes with no coding experience. You will also use Adobe Stock which provides a starter asset library filled with shapes, illustrations, models, design patterns, animations, and sound effects to use in your own project.
