Smart Gardens

A smart garden is an automated system using circuits, sensors, and an IOT setup that can take care of a plant all by itself. A smart garden will monitor the all of the data relevant to the plant. Then, it uses that information to maintain and care for the plant.

Tech Kits

Tech Kits are part of the walk-in service provided by OPIM Innovate. There are three levels of difficulty meant for different users and their experience with the different technologies. Many of the Tech Kits build off each other as you progress.

Beginner

Personal Smart Garden with Basic Circuitry

Length: 30 Minutes

Description: A Smart Garden is a set of sensors and controls that can monitor and care for a plant with little to no input from a human. A smart garden takes out the guesswork of trying to grow plants. In this activity, you will set u a basic circuit of sensors to learn the temperature and humidity of the area surrounding a plant.

Intermediate

Smart Garden Circuitry and IOT with Raspberry Pi

Length: 45 Minutes

Description:A Smart Garden is a set of sensors and controls that can monitor and care for a plant with little to no input from a human. A smart garden takes out the guesswork of trying to grow plants. In this activity, you will build a more sophisticated setup for the circuit and begin to build out an IOT setup.

Advanced

Personal Smart Garden with IOT Setup (IN PROGRESS)

Length: 45 Minutes

Description: A Smart Garden is a set of sensors and controls that can monitor and care for a plant with little to no input from a human. A smart garden takes out the guesswork of trying to grow plants. In this activity, you will complete the circuit and link it with a completed IOT setup to create a dashboard that will project data about your plant.
